2003 Geoff Weaver Riesling
Aged Australian white wines are one of the greatest, if not THE greatest undiscovered great wines in the world. Aged Semillon, sometimes with 20 to 30 years of age, can rival cru White Burgundy. When you can find them. This 2003 Riesling from legendary Adelaide Hills winemaker, Geoff Weaver, shocked my pants off. Before I say anything else, let me say, if you love wine, BUY ALL OF THIS WINE OR AS MUCH AS YOU CAN AFFORD. I’m drinking as much as I can and for some reason I love white wine more in the winter than summer. To say that this wine has aged gracefully would be an understatement. It’s aged into a sublime, flawless, incredibly complex, near perfect white wine with freshness, zip and aged wine quality without seeming old at all. Simply put, it’s an amazing white wine.
