2000 Duck Muck was my Thanksgiving wine this year. At a dive Chinese restaurant in Honolulu that had sublime pork ribs and roast duck we had to order ahead and it was an epiphany moment. I didn't buy Duck Muck to put away and I didn't expect much from either the wine or the food. The 2000 Duck Muck was one of the best wines I've had this year and one of the best Australian wines I've ever had. I've put away a little bit of wine from every one of my favorite Australian producers from 1995 to 2008. There may be equal but no other Australian wine has aged with as much grace, finesse, complexity and sheer quality as Wild Duck Creek.
