Background
Grenache has always been our focal point, because it encapsulates our philosophy of wine so well: a poorly recognized grape variety, which delivers everything that we love about red wine; varietal and regional expression; aromas and flavors of red berries and black cherries, pepper; and, always, a hint of Asian spice and anise complexity. On the palate I’m always looking for flavors that remind me of milk chocolate. However, most importantly, it is the flavor structure that wins out. No other red grape delivers richness and ripeness together with softness, gentle acidity and sheer drinkability. It’s simultaneously intellectual and
accessible.
